5 Ways to stay heart centred and aligned with your values whilst making sales

Everyone wants to know the secret to satisfaction and fulfilment as an entrepreneur. One of the most important things when becoming an entrepreneur is to align your business with your values and keep that alignment intact. In this article I will explain how to stay in alignment with heart centred values whilst being amazing at sales.

Many people think that the process of sales as sleazy and underhand. It’s not the process, it’s the techniques and the people behind the techniques. You are different, I know because you’re reading this.

Starting a business is one thing. You have an idea. You’re all excited about it. Then you must do all the things that come with it. Unless you are trained or have experience sales can seem hard if you’ve not done it before and you don’t know how. Not to mention it gets a bad rap for being sleazy and unnatural.

How can you be consistent at sales, remain heart centred, and stay full of energy to serve in your best frame of mind?

I’ve worked in sales and marketing since I started my Career in 1999. I’m experienced in telesales, direct sales, and internet sales. I’ve been an entrepreneur using the internet to get business since 2009 and have worked as a digital marketing consultant for entrepreneurs since 2015. I have guided many companies to create successful internet focused marketing and sales strategies.

I have always believed that making good sales is about connecting the right people with the right solution. It should be ethical and not pressured or manipulative.

So, how do you stay aligned with your values. Maintain balanced energy before, during, and after making sales. No matter the outcome.

1.Keep focussed on your heart centred values and goals

Every time you learn a new method or techniques make sure it aligns with you. There is nothing worse than learning pressured “exclusivity and scarcity” sales techniques that feel unnatural and are completely unnecessary. It’s important not to be in a rush to make sales. Take the pressure off yourself and learn about the people you’re talking to. If you are not making sales, ask yourself

Is it your offer, or how you’re presenting it?

Are you giving the wrong information or are you talking to the wrong people?

Staying within your values and evaluating yourself and your outcomes will keep you aligned and moving forward full of positive energy ready to change lives and the world.

2.Value yourself

Be clear about what you do and what you offer, value yourself and your abilities. Don’t be cagey and don’t talk too much. Try and understand what your potential client wants that you can give and then demonstrate how you can give that to them. Don’t talk features and benefits. First listen, ask questions, and then reassure. Be confident. Nothing more. This simple method will keep conversations short and beneficial for both you and them.

3.Learn to Qualify

Ok, so it helps to know your stuff. What’s often forgotten is the person you are talking to is talking to you because they don’t know your stuff. So, if you talk too much about features, benefits, processes, etc, you are going to overwhelm them with information. Qualifying is a simple process where you ask questions to ensure you can help the person you are talking to. It is the most heart centred sales process there is. For example,

“Why have you come to see me today?

“What do you think is holding you back?

“How would you like it to be?

“What have you tried to get to where you want to be?

“If we could get you to where you want to be how do you think you would feel?

“Have you ever worked with a consultant/coach/healer before?

How did it go?

“If I could get you to where you want to be within a few months do you think it would be good to work together?”.

No pressure, no features no benefits and no over explaining. People don’t want to know how you’re going to fix their problem. Only that you understand their position, care enough to listen, and that you can fix their problem.

Learning to qualify will help you create strong relationships, give you valuable information to help you focus on the right problems to solve and ensure you find the best clients for your business to grow.

4.Don’t take it personally

You can’t make every sale and you shouldn’t work with every customer. Get used to taking rejection calmly and giving people space.
Often if you confidently accept a rejection and follow up with a heart centred message of thanks, they will change their minds.
If not you can always ask, “what was it that you were unsure about?” By remaining neutral, reviewing your processes, and understanding what you did wrong, at the least you will improve your abilities and results in future.

5.Don’t compare yourself with others

You do not know someone else’s experience. You do not know someone else’s effort thus far. Your business will move once you are aligned with it, and it is aligned with your values. Once this happens you will keep growing and loving every day, hour, and minute. The only person you should compare yourself with is yourself. Are you improving?
Once you are regularly reviewing yourself and only focused on being your best you will remain aligned with your values.

To recap

  1. Stay aligned with your values
  2. Value yourself and your services
  3. Learn to ask good questions (Qualify)
  4. Don’t take it personally. Walk away with your head held high
  5. The only person you should compare yourself with is you.

Staying aligned when working as an entrepreneur who is offering energy exchanges is crucial. It will enable you to attract the right clients, consistently improve, and get the best results. Whether you are a coach, educator, mentor, facilitator, healer, or any other form of holistic service provider your energy is what matters. Keep these five things in mind and start to attract amazing clients that align with you and your business.
