Presence + Productivty = Personal Power

You don’t know what you don’t know

It’s easy to see what could have gone better in hindsight.

It can be painful too.

In 2019 I didn’t know I was nearly hitting burnout.

I didn’t know what it was, or the signs.

My business was in year 4.

I’d consistently doubled the turnover each year and was set to do the same in 2020.

What could be wrong?

As it happens quite a lot.

Bless my lucky stars

Luckily for me in 2018 I’d learnt how to make good sales from a client.

My client was a business coach who specialised in sales.

He taught me that not every sale is a good sale.

Too many people make sales to increase their income.

This is very short-term thinking.

If you want to have a successful business or be good at sales long-term, you need recommendations and referrals.

You only get recommendations and referrals from happy clients.

We should only make sales if we are confident what we’re selling will deliver what it promises for that client.

That is how you make good sales.

Turning the tables

When my clients marketing contract came up for renewal, I had to decline working with him.

I could not sell to him as he was micromanaging me and wanted things done his way.

I knew his way was not going to get the results he desired and so to take on the work would be a bad sale.

So, instead I agreed to host his website and make any updates he required, in exchange for business coaching…

That was the start of a beautiful journey.

Me at the time

I was a fast learner, hard worker, and quick thinker.

However, I did not value myself.

Meeting with someone who had over 40 years business experience helped me greatly.

My confidence was boosted greatly by the fact he valued my knowledge and opinion.

I was running a business as a solopreneur, and it seemed to be working.

I thought my home life was ok, but I wasn’t really paying attention.

I had never really paid a lot of attention to my health, but worse now I was putting on weight and sitting at a desk all day.

Removing the veil

Coaching enabled me to see that I was missing many pieces of the puzzle.

Nothing I couldn’t rectify with guidance, but if left I would have probably lost my business and my family.

Yet, I was completely unaware of that.

I was charging ahead making countless mistakes and heading for the hospital.

Coaching and reading about being a successful entrepreneur are the reasons I am still here today.

Better than that, I am still here with a happy family, and a new more fulfilling direction.

Facing the Facts

If you want to be a successful entrepreneur there are many ways you can do it.

However, you need to ask yourself, what is you goal as an entrepreneur?

If it is to achieve

  • freedom,
  • financial abundance,
  • and to create a legacy that changes lives, yours included

Then get a coach.

Not just any coach.

A coach that has been where you are.

Many entrepreneurs take a few years to fully validate their business.

Many entrepreneurs take four or more years to realise they are going to fail.

In hindsight,

  • I had nothing to prove, yet I wanted to do it alone,
  • I had a lot to lose, yet I was playing poker with my life,
  • I had many blind spots that were easily overcome, but I wasn’t aware of them.

Most importantly though…

I could have reached the sweet spot I’m at now if I had got a good coach 6 years ago.

Now I have,

  • Freedom
  • abundance
  • satisfaction
  • and fulfilment.

My business is on track to become a legacy I can leave behind.

I am justly proud and celebrating wins regularly.

And most importantly my family are happy, and I am healthier….

And truthfully that’s why I became an entrepreneur…

To provide my family with happiness…
